Electric companies and electrical contractors alike face the challenge of keeping workers safe around power lines. That’s exactly what an inventor from Rockford, Ill., was concerned about when he decided to find a way to protect boom truck workers from electric shock.

He developed the patent-pending REMOTE OVER RIDE to eliminate the risk of exposure to live power lines for boom truck type vehicle operators. As such, it has the potential to save lives and prevent injuries. In other words it promotes safety on the job by breaking contact from conductive wires for anyone in the bucket who gets too close to the wires. Furthermore, it allows a compromised worker to be lowered safely to the ground. This device is also convenient, effective and affordably priced. In addition, it is portable, lightweight and easy to use.

The inventor’s professional experience in power line clearance inspired the idea. “My motivation was to improve safety for anyone operating a boom truck type vehicle who may come in contact with live power lines, ” he said.
