The plate compactors stocked within the USA are fitted with a universal skid steer adapter plate. This allows connection to all major skid steer machines. Other configurations are available on special request.
The plate compactors offered by Mountain Valley Equipment are provided with universal skid steer adapter plates. They will fit the majority of skid steer units in production.
Lo-flow machines: You will need a lo-flow hydraulic connection with a minimum of 17 gal/min. It is imperative that there is a free flowing case drain line that feeds back to the tank. There is a two-bar pressure valve, but there must be this non-restricted line in order for proper hydraulic flow. If your skid steer is not equipped with a drain line, check with your skid steer manufacturer about the correct place in which to install a simple return line.
Hi-flow/lo-flow machines: You will need to connect the plate compactor to the lo-flow lines on your skid steer, and also connect the case drain. You will simply not use your hi-flow line with this attachment.
Hi-flow only machines: If you have a hi-flow only machine, a plate compactor can be ordered from the manufacturer with this configuration. Special order is available.

The customer will be required to obtain and install the necessary hydraulic couplings to connect the attachment to the skid steer.

A typical compaction of 8” is usually gained upon three passes, moving at the speed of a quick walk. Results vary- we have reports of 24” compacted in the same amount of time.
